We all know that taste in music can differ, also during the Eurovision Song Contest… Some countries give the highest points to the winner while other countries ignore the winning song.
In 1997 20 of the 25 participating counties had a jury (that awarded 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 points for their top ten songs) and 5 countries had a televote (where the top ten most voted for songs were awarded the 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 points). The winning song Love Shine A Light, sung by Katrina & the Waves for the United Kingdom got points from all juries but Malta gave only one point to the winning song.
