WHY DID JONE ENDED IN 5TH PLACE AT THE 2023 NORWEGIAN EUROVISION FINAL

Today Morten Thomassen looks at Jone who ended in  5th place at the 2023 Norwegian Eurovision selection. ESC Covers google translated it from Norwegian to English.

MGP 2023 was in many ways a party night and in fact it has been quite a while since so many of the songs that took part worked on a dance floor.

Then it was only fair and reasonable that Jone was allowed to start the music party and he did so at the start, he got quite a good reception in the hall, where mostly festive tunes created a very good atmosphere.

This guy came in 6th place with the jury and that with a full 30 points, actually a little more than I had expected given that.

I was also surprised that the song “Ekko Inni Meg” only managed 4th place among the people and I guess I never imagined that the song from Swing’it would beat this song.

But, it did, and with a fairly good score from both jury groups, it was a total placement right in the middle of the tree, which is 5th place, after all, when there are 9 songs included.

It takes an artist to open a show and I think that Jone comes from this task with a near pass.

He was unlucky to break a rib and is therefore a little too stationary on stage, which is understandable, given the circumstances.

For the most part, what happens vocally is perfectly fine, a few missteps here and there, but for me this does not detract.

The fact that there was no better result is probably mainly due to the fact that this type of music is unable to gather more fans and possibly, despite its popularity, does not quite measure up to the type of song that one might feel is more MGP than this is.

But, thanks for a great party, Jone should have that.
