Sweet Sense do not make X Factor UK live finals….but the future is bright for Gaia

Unfortunately, the made up girl band, Sweet Sense, featuring Gaia Cauchi from Malta, did not make the live shows of the X Factor UK. It appears the chemistry was not quite right within the band but, nevertheless, the girls performed very well in front of mentor, Robbie Williams and guest judge, David Walliams, in the Judges Houses phase. In particular, Gaia’s vocals stood out in the band.

Robbie Williams originally said in the early auditions that he thought Gaia maybe a little young as a solo act and could imagine her in a girl group and joining Sweet Sense was eventually the idea. However, although we do not know what will happen to Sweet Sense yet, Gaia has gained huge experience from this journey. It will surely help her going forward in the music industry. This is just ‘The Start’ (excuse the pun) and Gaia has a big future ahead of her.

Gaia, of course, won the 2013 Junior Eurovision Song Contest for Malta with The Start.

Brendan Murray made a big impression on the judges at the X Factor UK – Six Chair Challenge. So much so that the boys mentor Louis Tomlinson pressed the Golden Buzzer enabling Brendan to pass straight to the Judges Houses phase of the competition.

Brendan performed the REM song Everybody Hurts and the judges and the audience at Wembley Arena loved it.

We will see how Brendan progresses in the X Factor.

Brendan Murray got a second chance to impress on X Factor UK

Brendan Murray appeared on the X Factor UK audition show at the weekend. He eventually got the chance to progress after impressing the judges with a second song called This Woman’s Work by Kate Bush.

When Brendan first took to the stage he appeared nervous as he sung We Don’t Have To Take Our Clothes Off in the style of Ella Eyre. Simon Cowell stopped the performance and said he should try another song as there was something not right.

He went to learn This Woman’s Work and therefore got a second chance to impress. However, even with this song there was drama at the beginning as Brendan forgot the lyrics. Simon told him to sing reading the lyric sheet. This time Brendan did a good job and eventually threw the paper lyric sheet down.

Brendan was passed to the next phase but how will he do? Do you think his voice is strong enough or is it maybe too lightweight? We will see in the coming weeks.

The brand new season of the X Factor launched yesterday in the United Kingdom. Eagle eyed viewers may have spotted Gaia Cauchi briefly in one of the camera shots.

I wonder what we can expect. Would Gaia have auditioned? If so, how would she do? Will she impress the judges including newcomers Robbie Williams,  Ayda Field (Robbie’s wife), Louis Tomlinson (from One Direction) and of course Simon Cowell?

It will be interesting to see what happens over the coming weeks.

We at ESC Covers will certainly be monitoring the X Factor tv show to see if Gaia will be featured and, hopefully, impress the judges.

Gaia won the 2013 Junior Eurovision Song Contest for Malta in 2013 with The Start. Let us hope whatever she is doing now it is The Start of an incredible journey for her.

Check out the clip below where you can see Gaia very briefly.
