VAI NIIN VAL NIIN – DANNY & EIJA MERILA
Ilkka Johannes Lipsanen (born September 24, 1942), commonly known by his stage name Danny, is a Finnish singer and guitarist. Still active, Danny’s singing career is one of the longest in Finland, spanning over more than 50 years. He has recorded many evergreen hit songs. And now at the age of 78 he is one of the 7 finalists in the Finnish Eurovision selection. To celebrate this achievement, ESC Covers has decided to highlight around 15 songs Danny has recorded over his long career, most covers – after all this is a website focusing on the covering of songs. We start off today with Danny in duet with Eija Merila covering the song HOW DO YOU DO, originally by Dutch duo Mouth & Macneal. This duo represented the Netherlands at the 1974 Eurovision song contest with I SEE A STAR. The Finnish title of How do you do is called VAI NIIN VAL NIIN.

Anna Grigorian is a talented and rising young star in the Netherlands. Her most recent single release is Vrij Zijn (Being free). It is a catchy and radio friendly track with a really good production and beat.

Anna took part in the 2018 Junior Songfestival – Dutch national selection for Junior Eurovision. Her song was Touch Each Other’s Hearts. Anna is originally from Armenia but currently resides in the Netherlands. She was a popular contestant on The Voice Kids 2018 in the Netherlands.
Anna also released the single Is Dit Love? (Is this love?) featuring DS. This is also an upbeat dance pop song with a powerful production. This is also available via all digital stores.

Unity release new single ‘Most Girls’
Unity are back with a new song called Most Girls. It is a cover of a track by Hailee Steinfeld. The song is an upbeat song with a positive vibe and the girls voices harmonise beautifully on the track.

Unity represented the Netherlands at the 2020 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with Best Friends. The band consists of Naomi (13), Maud (14), Jayda (13) and Demi (14).

Stefania & Rein release ‘SWIPE’ single
Stefania & Rein have released a collaboration song called SWIPE. It is a catchy upbeat song with a new dance move even for social distance!
SWIPE is composed by Dick Kok and John-Lewis Cabot. The production is by Dick Kok forLAB-3 and the mastering is by Peter Brussee of Q-Point.
Stefania was chosen to represent Greece at the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest with SUPERG!RL, but did not get the chance to perform the song as the competition was cancelled due to the world pandemic. However, she will get another chance to sing for Greece in the 2020 Eurovision. She also represented the Netherlands at the 2016 Junior Eurovision Song Contest as part of the group, Kisses, with the song Kisses & Dancin’.
Rein van Duivenboden is a singer and actor from the Netherlands and is most recent song was called Why.
