In the third semifinal of the Ukrainian national selection, which was on the 18 February, the band took the first place with seven points from jury and seven points from televoting.

Ukraine 2017: Participant profile- Rozhden
Rozhden is a finalist of the Ukrainian National selection 2017. He is a Ukrainian and Russian pop singer from Odessa. He hasn’t any musical education, he is musician- autodidact.
The man, like ILLARIA, took part in the second season of the tv show The Voice of Ukraine, where he became a finalist. Diana Arbenina was his mentor.
After tv show the singer created his debut album ‘PRAVDA’ (The truth). The song Znaesh (You know) became a big hit on iTunes.
On the 11 February Rozhden took part in the second semi-final of the Ukrainian national selection for Eurovision 2017 with the song Saturn and became a finalist with 13 points (8 from jury and 5 from televoting).
His song Saturn is written by Panos Liassi and Rafael Ishman (USA).

Ukraine 2017: Participant profile – ILLARIA
ILLARIA is a finalist of the Ukraine national selection 2017. Her real name is Ekaterina Prischepa. She is a Ukrainian singer, composer and poet with with Greek roots. Her style is ethnic music.
Ekaterina was in 1986 in Kiev. She loves music from childhood. The girl graduated from the Kiev Musical Institute of Glier.
In 2011 she got the main award in the famous contest in Ukraine – Chyrvona ruta, but the popularity came to her after participating in the second season of the TV-show The Voice of Ukraine, where she finished in the semi-final.
ILLARIA also has an award from Ukrainian Ministry of Culture.
On the 11 February ILLARIA took part in Ukranian national selection for Eurovision 2017 and became the next finalist with 15 points (7 from jury and 8 from televoting). Her song is Thank You For My Way.

Participant profile: ESC 2017 Belarus national selection – PROvocatia
The last finalist of the Belarus national selection 2017 that we review is – PROvocatia.
PROvocatia are another Belarussian duo that consists of Artem Solodukha and Mark Voitko. The band was created in 2015 in Minsk by their producer Anatoliy Chepikov.
The guys have the speciality of stage vocals from the University of Culture and Arts. They are very popular in Belarus. PROvocatia have many songs, which they sing during their concerts.
On the 20th of January the band will sing song My Love. The authors are Anatoliy Chepikov (music), Svyatoslav Poznyak (music) and Ilya Ermak (lyrics).

Participant profile: ESC 2017 Belarus national selection – LERMONT & JULIC
Lermont & Julic is a duo that consists of Vasiliy Seleschev and Anton Rubatskiy. The project was created in Minsk.
Lermont & Julic often give mini-concerts in Belarus , Russia, Lithuania, Germany and other countries. In their repertoire there are about 20 songs.
On the 20 January the guys will sing song Heart Beat, which they wrote themselves . Their number is # 12.

Participant profile: ESC 2017 Belarus national selection – Anastasia Sheverenko
Anastasia Sheverenko is the participant and the winner of many vocal competitions. Among them: ‘Belarussian Roots 2010″ in Palanga, Lithuania (winner); “New names 2011” (winner); “The Star 2011” – the contest of army songs (Laureate); “East Bazaar 2012” in Yalta, Crimea (participant); “Youth for the Union State 2012” in Rostov-on-Don, Russia (1st place award); the finalist of Belarussian musical TV-show “Academy of Talents” and others.
Anastasia graduated from the Russian Social University but she says that music is her life.
On the 20 January her number is #11. Song – We’ll Be Together . The authors of the song are Max Aleynikov (music) and Irina Filatova (lyrics).

Participant profile: ESC 2017 Belarus national selection – KATTIE
Kattie (real name is Ekaterina Rudnitskaya) is a very popular Belarussian singer. Recently she graduated from musical college, speciality- vocal, after continued studying in the Institute of modern knowledges of Shirokov and work as vocalist in Premier Orchestra.
Last year Kattie also wanted to take part in the Belarus national selection and did not qualify to the final. But she was in the final of the selection as a special guest and performed her song Rainbow.
In February 2016 she was one of the leaders of a big international music chart – Jamendo. And also in the same month the singer got The Academia Music Awards 2016 for the best pop-rock song of February on Los Angeles, USA.
In May 2016 Kettie was a finalist of the international music contest WWMC in Rome, Italy, where she got a special prize from judges.
On 20 January her number is #6. Kattie ‘s song for 2017 is Wild Wind. The authors are Anders Hansson (Sweden) and Sharon Vaughn. Anders was one of the composers of the song Children Of The Universe (ESC 2014 UK – Molly). Sharon wrote Waterline (ESC Ireland 2012 – Jedward) and Survivor (Helena Paparizou, Sweden MF 2014) and other famous songs.

Participant profile: ESC 2017 Belarus national selection – Nikita Hodas
Nikita Hodas is a young Belarussian musician. He has lived for music from his childhood. He plays the piano and guitar.
Nikita says: “For me music – is not show-business, it is an art. It is an international language, which is available for all without any borders”.
On 20 January Nikita will start at # 9. His song is called Voice In My Head, which he wrote himself. In the song Nikita sings about the history of his life.

Participant profile: ESC 2017 Belarus national selection – Nuteki
This is the fourth consecutive year that Nuteki will take part in the Belarus National selection.
Nuteki is an alternative metal Russian band, that was formed in 2007. The band was founded by Mikhail Nokarashvili (lead vocals) and Kirill Matsiushenko (keyboards and programming), both of whom are originally from Bobruisk in Belarus.
Nuteki are mostly recognized by their distinctive appearance and view towards live performances: “Shows must be performed in such a way that the people would still be interested to see them even with no audio”.
The band have released three studio albums – Digital Dreams (2010), Unplugged#1 (2012) and NUTEKI (2015).
Over the span of their career, Nuteki took part in the Belarussian national contest to represent the country in Eurovision three times. They were semi-finalists in 2011; won the second place in 2013 and came in fifth in 2014.
In 2017 Nuteki will try to reach the summit of Belarussian ESC again. On 20 January their number is #7. The song – Take My Heart.
