The new season of X Factor began in Malta, where the eventual winning act will go to Eurovision. ESC Covers thought the pick of the first auditions was by Justine Shorfid.
Justine gave an outstanding performance of All I Want by Kodaline. She performed with a lot of power and emotion.
Justine sailed through this first audition with four YES votes and a standing ovation by the judges.
Justine Shorfid was a finalist in the 2015 Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest national selection. There she performed the Etta James song, I’d Rather Go Blind. Justine is also competing in The Entertainers – Singing Challenge on Net tv in Malta.
Now Justine has had a big success at the Erseb Festival. She won first prize in her section for singing Proud Mary (performed by many acts including Tina Turner). Justine also got the second prize in her section for performing the musical classic, Summertime. She got the overall prize too.
Justine has a very soulful voice and I am sure we are going to hear a lot more from her in the future.
You can see Justine perform Proud Mary on The Entertainers below.
The Entertainers is a popular variety programme on Net tv in Malta. It is produced by SLE and hosted by Janvil (a Malta Song For Europe finalist on five occasions in 2005, 2006, 2009, 2011, 2012). Three singers from the 2016 Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest have made it to the The Entertainers – Singing Challenge.
The singers are Justine Shorfid, Rachel Lowell and Kira Copperstone. ESC Covers wishes all the singers good luck with their challenge ahead.
Justine has a very strong and soulful voice and she performed I’d Rather Go Blind (originally by Etta James) in the Malta JESC 2016 final.
Rachel also is very talented and has a powerful and clear pop vocal. She performed I Surrender (by Celine Dion) in the Malta JESC 2016 final.
Kira has a strong voice too and took on the challenge of performing Listen (by Beyoncé) in the Malta JESC 2016 final.
