The techno rock band Hatari will represent Iceland at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest with Hatrið Mun Sigra (Hate will prevail) after winning the Söngvakeppnin,

SWEDEN

The 2019 Vidbir competition continued and three acts made it to the final –

The 2019 Söngvakeppnin continued and two acts direct to the final –
The final wildcard place for the final was awarded to Kristina Skoubo Bærendsen.
LITHUANIA
The Eurovizijos Atranka 2019 continued and four acts qualified for the final –
GEORGIA
Georgian Idol carried on and there are now five acts remaining after the elimination of Tamar Lachkhepiani.
PORTUGAL
The 2019 Festival da Canção begun and four acts qualified for the final –

Ari Ólafsson has won the Söngvakeppnin national final with the song Our Choice and will therefore represent Iceland at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon in May.

Svala from Iceland covered the 2016 Eurovision winner from Ukraine – 1944.
Yohanna from Iceland covered the 1997 Eurovision winner from the United Kingdom LOVE SHINE A LIGHT in English.
OGAE Iceland will also participate in the OGAEvision contest during the Berlin weekend 14 to 16 July. The singer has picked NUNA, the Icelandic entry from 1995 which originally was performed by Bo Halldorsson. This song is one of our top favourites. Bo is the father of Slava who represented Iceland this year in Kyiv.
