Hatari and ‘Hatrið Mun Sigra’ for Iceland at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest

The techno rock band Hatari will represent Iceland at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest with Hatrið Mun Sigra (Hate will prevail) after winning the Söngvakeppnin,

The five finalists –

  1. Friðrik Ómar – Hvað ef ér get ekki elskað – Super Finalist
  2. Kristina BærendsenMama Said
  3. Tara MobeeFighting For Love
  4. Hera BjörkMoving On
  5. Hatari – Hatrið mun sigra – Super Finalist

Hatari won the ticket for Israel and you can see their performance below.

Eurovision 2019: Rest of the News Roundup – Saturday 16 February 2019

Besides four more entries being selected it was another busy night for national selection qualifiers –

SWEDEN

The qualifiers from the third semi-final of the 2019 Melodifestivalen from Leksand were –

  • Jon Henrik FjällgrenNorrsken
  • Lina HedlundVictorious 

The two acts to go to the second change phase are – Martin Stenmarck and Rebecka Karlsson.

HUNGARY

The 2019 A Dal continued with the last semi-final.

The four acts to qualify were –

  • Gergő Szekér – Madár, repülj!
  • Bogi Nagy – Holnap
  • Joci Pápai – Az én apám
  • Fatal Error – Kulcs

UKRAINE

The 2019 Vidbir competition continued and three acts made it to the final –

  • Kazka Apart
  • Freedom Jazz – Cupidon
  • Anna Maria – My Road

ICELAND

The 2019 Söngvakeppnin continued and two acts direct to the final –

  • Friðrik Ómar – Hvað ef ég get ekki elskað? 
  • Tara Mobee – Betri án þín

The final wildcard place for the final was awarded to  Kristina Skoubo Bærendsen.

LITHUANIA

The Eurovizijos Atranka 2019 continued and four acts qualified for the final –

  • Jurijus – Run With The Lions
  • Antikvariniai Kašpirovskio Dantys – Mažulė
  • Monika Marija – Criminal
  • Jurgis DID & Erica Jennings – Sing!

GEORGIA

Georgian Idol carried on and there are now five acts remaining after the elimination of Tamar Lachkhepiani.

PORTUGAL

Ari Ólafsson will sing ‘Our Choice’ for Iceland at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest

Ari Ólafsson has won the Söngvakeppnin national final with the song Our Choice and will therefore represent Iceland at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon in May.

Our Choice is composed by Thorunn Clausen.
