Syuzi Harutyunyan has been selected to represent Armenia at the ‘Crystal Pearl’ International Competition in Moldova between 20-23 March 2020.
Syuzi is a talented young singer and the participation will give her more worldwide experience and the capability to show her talent to an international audience.
Syuzi will most likely sing the popular song Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen and covered by many artists including Alexandra Burke, who had a number one hit in the United Kingdom with the song.
Syuzi took part in the 2014 Armenian Junior Eurovision national selection with I Dream and has continued to blossom with her music career since. She has also covered the 2017 Moldova Eurovision song by Sunstroke Project, Hey Mamma. You can hear her cool version below.
ESC Covers will bring you more news about Syuzi’s participation in due course.
The following sentence from an interview Anna Odobescu gave yesterday caught ESC Covers attention.
“Our team will also include guys from the Sunstroke Project, they will come with us as the supporters”.
It will be lovely to see them again and that gave ESC Covers an idea. It will be lovely if a SOUTH AFRICAN artist will record a cover of HEY MAMMA which we can hand over to the Sunstroke project guys in Tel Aviv. I hope there is someone out there who will like to cover this song. Let us know.
The 4th promo single in our series of 6 is from the 2017 Moldova entry HEY MAMMA by SUNSTROKE PROJECT. Euro fans, who were on the weekend’s cruise between Helsinki and Tallinn, would have seem them perform.
Chris Hockman brought something to our attention – not a SINGLE OGAE fan club awarded any points to HEY MAMMA by SUNSTROKE PROJECT, the 2017 entry from Moldova. We did not expect a third place but knew it will do well due to the way the three guys handled the press and fans – showing true dedication and professionalism. Their HEY MAMMA t-shirts also took our breath away.
Michaela Sowden from Australia and a member of OGAE Rest of the world, also completed a shift at the OGAE fan stand in Kyiv, Ukraine. It was the second year in a row she worked there. During a meet and greet in the Euro fan cafe, she met up with Sunstroke project from Moldova and got a signed copy of their CD – HEY MAMMA
