Belarus has today announced their selection process for the Eurovision 2021 song contest.
Applications can be made through the Belarus TV website and as in previous years there are no language restrictions for submitted songs.
This year however: “For the first time in the history of national selection, you need to send a video recording of the performance of the composition in live sound mode. Both solo performers and teams of no more than 6 people are invited to participate. Belarusian and foreign artists from 16 years can become candidates. At the same time, every applicant has the right to only one application.”
Applications will be accepted up until Jan 31st and thereafter, the format of the national final or selection will be made depending on the epidemiological situation at that time.
Senhit has released the latest of her regular #FreakyTripToRotterdam project with a cover of Waterloo by ABBA (the 1974 Eurovision winning song). She has definitely done a complete rehaul of the song with her own unique version and dramatic and ‘freaky’ styles. Maybe it is not for all tastes but credit Senhit for trying something different.
Senhit was chosen to represent San Marino at the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest with Freaky! until the show was cancelled due to the world health pandemic. She also represented them in 2011 with Stand By. However, she will get the chance again to represent San Marino at the 2021 Eurovision.

Anxhela Peristeri has won the Festivali i Këngës #59 contest and will therefore represent Albania at the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest. Her song is called Karma.
Karma is a powerful and dramatic ethnic pop song and is composed by Kledi Bahiti (music) and Olti Curri (lyrics).

The official Junior Eurovision channels today announced that France Télévisions will host Junior Eurovision 2021 following Valentina’s win with her song ‘J’Imagine’
Daði Freyr has released a festive Christmas single called Every Moment Is Christmas. It is a melodic retro style ballad with an electronic instrument sound.
Every Moment Is Christmas is composed by Daði Freyr. The mixing was by Daði Freyr and Styrmir Hauksson and mastering by Styrmir Hauksson.
Daði & Gagnamagnið were one of the big favourites to win the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest with Think About Things. However, the contest was cancelled due to the world health pandemic. It was recently announced that Daði & Gagnamagnið will represent Iceland at the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest.

Roxen & Alexander Rybak have collaborated on a new song called Wonderland. It is an upbeat and catchy track with a positive and happy vibe. I am not sure Alexander actually sings on this track but I presume he is involved in the music playing.

Roxen was chosen to represent Romania at the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest with Alcohol You. The competition was, however, cancelled due to the world health pandemic. Roxen will get another chance as she has been confirmed to represent Romania at the 2021 Eurovision.
Alexander Rybak won the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest for Norway with Fairytale. He returned to compete again for Norway the 2018 Eurovision with That’s How You Write A Song.
Elena Tsagrinou has been chosen to represent Cyprus at the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest. The song she will perform will be El Diablo (The Devil) which will be revealed at a later date.
Elena is a very popular and much respected singer in the Greek music scene. She is 26 years old and first came in to the spotlight in 2008, at 14 years, when she was a popular contestant in ‘Greece Got Talent’, where she got to the semi-finals.
In 2013 Elene joined the OtherView group, and they had many hit songs. Then in 2018 she began her solo recording career and has had many hit songs and music videos and performed in concerts and shows in Greece and Cyprus.
Elena is also a successful personality where she has been a coach on the ‘Just The 2 Of Us’ music show, she has been a presenter on ‘The Voice of Greece’ and recently has been presenting her own show ‘K-Pop Stars’ on MAD TV in Greece and Cyprus.
The song that Elena will sing at Eurovision 2021 is El Diablo. It is composed by successful songwriters, Jimmy “Joker” Thornfeldt (Swedish music producer and writer for worldwide artists like Jennifer Lopez, Enrique Iglesias, Pitbull, Usher and Nicki Minaj), Laurell Barker (Canadian songwriter who composed the 2019 ESC Swiss entry She Got Me by Luca Hänni and had KPop success with Twice, Oh My Girl and Girls Generation and Swedish hits including for Hanna Ferm), Oxa (Brazilian born singer, songwriter and dancer and took part in many musicals as well as The Voice of Germany in 2019) and Thomas Stengaard (Award winning Danish songwriter/producer who wrote the Denmark ESC winning song for Emmelie de Forrest, Only Teardrops, in 2013. He was also one of the writers of the German 2018 ESC song by You Let Me Walk Alone by Michael Schulte).

Stefania & Rein have released a collaboration song called SWIPE. It is a catchy upbeat song with a new dance move even for social distance!
SWIPE is composed by Dick Kok and John-Lewis Cabot. The production is by Dick Kok forLAB-3 and the mastering is by Peter Brussee of Q-Point.
Stefania was chosen to represent Greece at the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest with SUPERG!RL, but did not get the chance to perform the song as the competition was cancelled due to the world pandemic. However, she will get another chance to sing for Greece in the 2020 Eurovision. She also represented the Netherlands at the 2016 Junior Eurovision Song Contest as part of the group, Kisses, with the song Kisses & Dancin’.
Rein van Duivenboden is a singer and actor from the Netherlands and is most recent song was called Why.

Markus Riva x Samanta Tina have released official music videos of their new song Man Nesanāk (I can not get it) – Latvian version and Radi nas (Work for us) – Russian version.
Man Nesanāk is composed by Markus Riva and Gints Stankevičs. The Russian lyrics for Radi nas are by Igor Tatarenko. The song has a retro 80s feel with a strong production.
Samanta Tina was chosen to represent Latvia at the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest with Still Breathing. However, the contest was cancelled due to the virus pandemic around the world. However, she will get the chance to represent Latvia again at the 2021 Eurovision.
Markus Riva has repeatedly tried to represent Latvia at Eurovision. He has been in the Supernova national selection for the consecutive years from 2013 to 2020.
