2017 Junior Eurovision: Opening Party highlights

The 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest held the official opening party yesterday. Six accredited journalists left the NNN hotel by metro to the Welcome Ceremony at the Georgian Parliament library. The underground was very crowded. The team were a little late arriving and the head of Georgian delegation  welcomed the artists on the red carpet.

Inside the venue Mariam (last year’s winning singer from Georgia) was singing. The presentation of Georgian food and drink was wonderful. Roy and Fabiana chatted with several acts including Malta, Armenia and Portugal.

Albania: Ana Kodra releases official video clip for ‘Mos Ma Prekni Pemen – Don’t Touch My Tree’

Ana Kodra is the cute and talented singer who will represent Albania at the 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with her song Mos Ma Prekni Pemen – Don’t Touch My Tree. She has released the official video clip for the song.

Muireann McDonnell will sing ‘Súile Glasa’ for Ireland at the 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest

Well it was supposed to be a secret until the recorded TG4 selection shows were all broadcast but it has been leaked via digital download outlets that the Irish entry at the 2018 Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be by Muireann McDonnell and her song Súile Glasa (Green Eyes). It is not possible to play the song yet but it is visible to see.

Check out Misha from Armenia singing medley of the 2017 Junior Eurovision Songs

Misha will soon represent Armenia at the 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with his song Boomerang. He has just performed a medley of 14 of the JESC songs this year (excluding his own entry and the song not yet known from Ireland).

Helena Meraai releases ‘I Am The One’ – Acoustic English version of Belarus 2017 Junior Eurovision song

The talented Helena Meraai will soon take to the stage at the 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest where she will represent Belarus with I Am The One.

Helena has just released a video clip of her song in an acoustic version in English. It is a beautifully shot video and Helena showcases her charming vocals.

The video was recorded in an opera and ballet theatre. Helena did the acoustic version with Yan Yarosh and he was responsible for the piano arrangement. Lyrics are byRita Dakota, who also behind the original version of the song.

Ana Kodra will sing ‘Mos ma prekni pemën’ for Albania at the 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest

Ana Kodra has won the Junior Fest national selection with her song Mos ma prekni pemën (Do not touch the tree) and will therefore represent Albania at the 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Georgia in November. The song is composed by Kristi Popa and Jorgo Papingji.

It was a strong final with many good songs – the ones that ESC Covers enjoyed were by Vivjan Kokeri, Argisa Sako and Ajla Buzi but credit should be given to all the competitors.

The interval included a short medley of all the previous three Albania JESC songs – Igzidora Gjeta, Mishela Rapo and Klesta Qehaja.

The winner was decided by an expert jury. You can see Ana’s winning song below.

Mina Blažev will sing ‘Dancing Through Life’ for FYR Macedonia at the 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest

Mina Blažev will take to the stage in Tbilisi, Georgia next month and represent her country, FYR Macedonia. She will perform the song Dancing Through Life. It is a classy, sophisticated and upbeat dance track that is radio friendly and can be popular on dance floors around Europe.

Dancing Through Life is written, arranged and produced by Aleksandar Masevski. He also was behind the wonderful entry from FYR Macedonia at the 2016 Junior Eurovision by Martija Stanojković and Love Will Lead The Way.

Mina is 14 years old and has already had success in popular music festivals including taking the coveted Pearl Award at the Ezerski Biseri fest in Macedonia. She was also a popular finalist this year in the Balkan talent show Pinkove Zvezdice.

Nicole Nicolaou releases video clip for ‘I Wanna Be A Star’

Nicole Nicolaou will represent Cyprus at the forthcoming 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Tbilisi, Georgia in November.

Nicole has just released the official video clip for her song I Wanna Be A Star. The song is a classic upbeat and fun pop/dance song that will get you tapping your feet and want to dance. This is reflected in the super fun video.

I Wanna Be A Star is composed by Constantinos Christoforou and it is about young people who should be believe in themselves and it is possible to achieve anything in life!

Nicole is 13 years old and is from Limassol in Cyprus and we are sure she has a big future ahead of her.

Fource release official video clip for ‘Love Me’

The four member boyband Fource will represent the Netherlands at the 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Georgia in November. The band have just released the official video clip for their song Love Me. It is a jolly upbeat dance song with an impressive video.

Fource are Max(14), Jannes (14), Niels (12) & Ian (13) and they recently won the national final of Junior Songfestival.

Mariana Venâncio to sing ‘Youtuber’ for Portugal at the 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest

Mariana Venâncio has been selected to represent Portugal at the 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with her song Youtuber. Portugal return to the contest after a 10 absence.

Five acts participated in the national final and Mariana won after receiving the most public votes.
