The San Remo 2021 festival has begun in Italy with half of the acts of the ‘Nuove Proposte’ category performing. Also, some of the ‘Campioni’ participants performed.

From the first set of demographic voting, Annalisa with Dieci (Ten), was the top of the leader board.

Two acts moved forward from the ‘Nuove Proposte’  section to the semi-final on Friday evening (5 March).

• Gaudiano – Polvere da sparo (Gunpowder)
• Folcast – Scopriti (Find out)

Diodato was a special guest. He performed his 2020 Eurovision and San Remo 2020 song, Fai rumore (Make noise). He will not be taking part in this year’s festival.

The winning act of San Remo is invited to represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest. However, they do not have to agree to take part.
