ESC Covers received the following press release from OUTtv.
In April and May, the European TV broadcaster OUTtv will be completely dedicated to the Eurovision Song Contest with more than 100 hours of different Eurovision TV shows. In addition to various Eurovision concerts, Eurovision music clips on OUTmusic and docu-reality shows such as “Netta, Queen of ESC” and “Conchita Unstoppable”, the eight-part OUTtv original series “Krista’s Road To Eurovision” will make its debut on the channel. In it, the well-known Finnish Eurovision star Krista Siegfrids (she / her), together with the Belgian Eurovision reporter Jens Geerts (she / her) and the Dutch DJ and podcast maker of “Ding a Dong” GJ Kooijman (he / him), will look on a weekly basis for answers to the question: “What makes Eurovision so fascinating?”
From April 7 Krista will conquer OUTtv with her brand new TV show “Krista’s Road To Eurovision”. Krista Siegfrids became known for her participation in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2013 when she represented Finland with the song “Marry Me”. She caused a sensation by kissing one of the dancers at the end of her performance. It was the first time that a lesbian kiss took place live on the Eurovision stage. Siegfrids wanted to show that she is in favor of the introduction of equal marriage in Europe. Now that she has recently moved to the Netherlands, the country where this year’s Eurovision Song Contest will take place, she wants to find out why so many people like the contest (especially within the LGBTQ+ community).
“I love the Eurovision Song Contest and I love the LGBTQ+ community,” explains Siegfrids, “So when OUTtv asked me if I wanted to do a TV show about Eurovision my answer was HELL YAAZZZ!! And oh boy, we have had some funny recording days. I just moved to Amsterdam, so it’s been really interesting for me to learn more about the Dutch Eurovision history and I even got to meet the legendary Ding-a-Dong mother Getty Kaspers. Lucky me!”
Tune in on “Krista’s Road to Eurovision”, every week from Wednesday, April 7 at 8 pm on OUTtv. The Eurovision Song Contest is popular among the OUTtv viewers. Every year, more than 2 million viewers tune in to the channel during the Eurovision Song Contest. OUTtv’s Eurovision program can be received in more than 12 countries. In addition to “Krista’s Road To Eurovision”, other TV shows about the Eurovision Song Contest will also make their TV debut on OUTtv this year:
ESC TOP 250
