María Ólafsdóttir was victorious in the Söngvakeppnin grand final and will represent Iceland at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest with her song Unbroken. Tonight María performed the song that in the semi-final was sung in the Icelandic language Lítil Skref.
Seven songs battled it out this evening. The acts and songs were –
- Cadem – Fly
- Sunday– Feathers
- Björn & Friends – Piltur og stúlka
- María Ólafsdóttir – Unbroken
- Elín Sif – Dance Slow
- Friðrik Dór – Once Again
- Haukur Heiðar Hauksson – Milljón Augnablik
The expert jury and televoting decided that two songs would make it to the superfinal. They were –
- Friðrik Dór – Once Again
- María Ólafsdóttir – Unbroken
After televoting only María Ólafsdóttir was declared the winner with Unbroken. The song was composed by the band StopWaitGo (who also wrote the runner up song).

Last year we had UNDO, now UNBROKEN, so I predict maybe a similar result?
This was my favourite going into the final, so I’m happy. Should she sing in Icelandic or English…hopefully the former, but I suspect the latter.
