Rūta Andruškevičiūtė took part in the first round of the 2017 Eurovizijos in Lithuania with her song The Way To Your Heaven. Unfortunately, Rūta did not make it through to the next phase. But the song should not be overlooked by Eurovision fans. It is very catchy and upbeat with a great melody. It was composed by Jose Juan Santana Rodriguez and Samuel Bugia Garrido.
Rūta started her interest in music as a small child. Both her parents are musicians. She took part in many festivals and contests and did very well as a young pianist. Her teacher was the well respected Natalija Sokolenko (she taught top pianists in Lithuania such as Kasparas Uinskas and Mantas Sernius). But Rūta then had a big problem with pains in her arms and after being in hospital doctors advised her not to continue as a pianist. She did however learn to play the saxophone and played in lots of venues. Then Rūta discovered she could sing and entertain. Now she is always performing and music is a big part of her life.
Rūta also appeared in Lietuvos balsos (The Voice of Lithuania) in 2014. You can see her perform the song Nenuleisk akių in the show below.

The way to heaven is a good song, I think maybe the problem lies with her extremely difficult surname – most fans will spell it wrong
