The San Remo 2021 festival continued in Italy with all 26 acts taking part in the  Canzone d’autore ‘ category performing a cover of their choice.

From the set of orchestra jury voting, Ermal Meta with Caruso, was top of the leader board.

The winning act of San Remo is invited to represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest. However, they do not have to agree to take part.
