The Söngvakeppnin 2023 national selection began in Iceland with five acts competing for two places in the final.

The acts and songs –

• Bendeikt – Þora (Dare)
• Diljá – Lifandi inni í mér
• Celebs – Dómsdagsdans (Doomsday dance)
• BRAGI – Stundum snýst heimurinn gegn þér ( Sometimes the world turns against you)
• MÓA – Glötuð ást (Lost love)

The acts to qualify for the final are –

• Diljá
• BRAGI
