I have a dream, a song to sing
Now your dream is given – to participate in EUROVISION as an artist and now I want to hear for which country and the song from their entries you would like to sing.
I would take GERMANY and their 1982 winner EIN BISSCHIEN FRIEDEN and do it even in a few more languages like SWAHILI and CHINESE etc.
I would do Cyprus – 2012 – La La Love…in full drag. It’s been a secret dream of mine for a while now!
Haha! This is something we have practised a lot during our parties at home. Listening to us trying to belt out the Hungarian bit of ‘what about my dreams’ is always rather funny!
I’m thinking I would tackle albania’s ‘it’s all about you’. It has everything to deliver a class(less) performance that I would (not) excel at.
Oh yess… Thanks for that priceless video recorded exclusivingly for me 😛 (Next time maybe the Hungarian part, please :Đ)
Oh dear… There are so many!!! To pick one is difficult. Let’s go to Greece for this one and totally rock out on Anna Vissi’s “Everything”. I think the dramatics and power and presence of that song and the performance was outstanding for Greece, and secretly I throw myself to my knees and writhe around like a tortured eel when alone and belting out that tune. As sad as it is.
I would do Dancing Lasha Tumbai by Ukraine’s Verka Serduchka because it looks like it was the most fun that any performer ever had on the Eurovision stage singing the best song never to have won Eurovision !
Austria, tossing up between Schmeterlinge as I did love their performance so many years ago, or Waterloo and Robinson because that song, My little world, is one of my favourites when I first saw it performed. I do remember how my family thought Austria had been cheated out of a better placing. Or I could do Julie Andrews in Victor, Victoria and be Conchita Wurst. I so give up, can’t choose.
Of course, I’d pick a Hungarian song. But I cannot really sing, so the Hungarian songs I really like and requires this talent are out: no Kinek mondjam el vétkeimet, no Forogj világ!, no Dance with me (definitely it requires singing knowledge, even if there was some failure in this case…) and no What about my dreams. So I’d pick Kedvesem, I think my singing talent is not so much worse than ByeAlex’s.
Too many to choose! I love my Israeli entries, so one that would be a blast is SHIR HABATLANIM (Israel 1987, the year I first saw Eurovision while in Israel), a fun Blues Brothers–type of act—and I actually know the words. I also think HARD ROCK HALLELUJAH (Finland) and WILD DANCES (Ukraine) would be tremendous. But really, it comes down to two: Spain’s BAILA EL CHIKI CHIKI (that hair!) and Germany’s WADDE HADDE DUDDE DA (those shoes!). Both have dance moves that look like so much fun, not to mention the hysterical lyrics!
There are many beautiful countries in Europe, I remember how they used to be. I have only been to a few but dream of visiting many more.
In my dreams I’m practicing my entry in the Swiss Alps.
In my dreams I dance like a Greek god!
In my dreams I wear the purity of a Russian outfit.
In my dreams I stage the perfection of a Norwegian entry.
In my dreams I have a Spanish tan.
In my dreams…we were weightless, stay amazing lie (do you hear me screaming?)
I literally had a dream I was singing Tanja’s (Estonia 2014) Amazing and I sang it so well I tried to force myself to have the dream again! I would never sound that good in real life.
I have used the first verse of the song to visualise my perfect entry.
If I had to choose a song it would definitely be Glorious by Cascada (Germany Eurovision 2013). I love her very much and she still is my favourite Eurovision contestant (along with Conchita, Lena, Edurne and Tijana). Everytime I see some stairs and when I’m with some friends of mine, I would get up on the top of the stairs and start singing Glorious. But I would enhance my stage performance to make it more lively, to match the song vibe and the lyrics. So, I’d get some dancers and focus on more and more “glorious” pyro effects, to deliver a full “glorious” Eurovision package.
I have to go with Fairytale (Alexander Rybak, Norway, 2009). The song itself is fun, but I really want to see my guests doing backup pushups in my living room and someone with a mad fiddle dancing around.
I think it would be a lot of fun to perform Kalomira’s Secret Combination. It’s such an energetic pop song!
If I had a voice and could carry a tune, I would like to sing Spain’s 2012 entry, Quédate Conmigo (Stay With Me). It is still my favorite Eurovision song ever.
Latvia this year, yes would represent Latvia. Aminata with Love Injected- such a cool song. Hitting those high notes and the changes
Easy: Pollapönk, 2014, “No Prejudice.” I have a silly beard and would fit right in. I may even have a navy blue leisure suit to complement the rainbow. I need to practice my papapapapapapapapappapapa!
My dream is to sing Not Alone from Armenia, in a packed stadium… With smoke machines, some dancers and raining fire effects in the final chorus – all the things that Armenia should have had on stage last year and didn’t!!!
Gravity by Zlata Ognevich. I’ve practiced this song ad nauseam in the shower for years.
For me, this is easy: Ukraine’s Verka Serduchka singing Dancing Lasha Tumbai. What a party they were having on that stage, and come on…her costume was so fabulously ridiculous! 🙂
Who wouldn’t want to dress in drag as a giant disco ball??
I would love to represent Italy and i’m sure they could find a place for me as a 4th in Il Volo, they need one with a beard! We could do Volare or Fuimi di parole as it is one of my favourite Italian entries
If only I had a voice that I could sing! Although I could do an improved version of Jemini from UK, 2003!
As much as Ott would hate it, (because the dull flat sounds coming out of my mouth would be just to much for anyone to bear), it would have to be representing Estonia with Kuula. One of those great songs that get played probably too much in our house, the car, at work, while studying (which I should be doing now … oops) and well everywhere really.
Extremely difficult question.
But I’ll say Spain with “La La La”
Runner-up: Spain’s “Dancing In The Rain”
