The Great Moscow State Circus was opened on 30th of April 1971.  It was designed and built under the guidance of I. Belopolsky. Its impressive auditorium is an enormous 36 meters tall and can seat up to 3,400 people. So in just over two months time, it will celebrate its 50th anniversary.

A journalist friend of Ian Fowell of ESC Covers, Victoria Urbanovich, who works in both Russia and Belarus, asked Ian if ESC Covers could do something to mark this occasion and we instantly said, yes. For the next five days, we will feature a Eurovision song each day that somehow ties in with a circus environment.

We are ending this short series today with a Swedish Eurovision selection song from 2006. It is called GOLDEN STAR and sung by ELYSION. Mikael Anderfjard, Andreas Nordqvist and Danne Attlerud composed the song. We also added an Afrikaans cover of the song called DAAR’S VIR JOU ‘N STER by NEDINE BLOM. This video was shot at a South African circus.
