ESC Covers got another press release from PR & BEYOND in Stockholm and we are sharing it here.
Popular artist Erik Segerstedt is back in the spotlight with his newly written song ‘Show Me What Love Is’ . The song, which is a powerful and emotional pop ballad, is his first entry as a solo artist in Melodifestivalen and will be performed in the second round of the competition this Saturday in Gothenburg.
Erik Segerstedt is the songbird from Uddevalla who took the Swedish public by storm in Idol 2006. After his success in the competition, he released his debut album ‘A Different Shade’ and then formed the pop group EMD together with Danny Saucedo and Mattias Andréasson. The group became one of Sweden’s biggest pop trios and delivered several hits before going their separate ways in 2010. Since then, Erik has continued to create music and become a well-known face on TV, both as a solo artist and behind some of Sweden’s biggest artists, including Robin Bengtsson and Felix Sandman.
2025 marks a new milestone in Erik’s career as he now competes solo in Melodifestivalen with his self-written song ‘Show Me What Love Is’ . The song explores the eternal question: What is love? With deep and heartfelt lyrics, Erik describes the longing, the waiting and the storms of emotions that arise when you think you have found the right one.
“This song comes straight from the heart. On Saturday I will proudly perform it and give it everything I have together with my band who also participated & wrote it!”
Erik’s entry will compete in the second round which will take place in Scandinavium, Gothenburg, this Saturday, February 8th.
He will be joined on stage by Mattias Andréasson – Bass/Vocals, Kalle Persson – Drums, Pontus Söderman – Guitar/Vocals and Robin Bengtsson – Choir. Hopes are high, and the audience can expect an energetic performance filled with emotion and passion.
