COUNTDOWN OF EUROVISION 2024 RESULTS – POSITION 28

ESC Covers start the Eurovision 2024 countdown from position 37 to the top place. We are using the review of Morten Thomassen from Norway. ESC Covers google translated it from Norwegian to English.

This is a blog entry and represents only writer Morten Thomassen’s own views.

Coincidence made it so this year that both countries that came in 11th place actually lacked a few points to reach the final, but despite the fact that the country that came in this sour place in the semi-final with the most countries, that country got a few points less than that which received the same position in the semi-final with the fewest participants.

In the semifinal Norway participated in, it was our Czech friend Aiko who was so close to cheating our own Gåte for the final place and since Gåte only got 3 points from the Czech Republic, in other words they didn’t cheat themselves for the final place and Norway actually gave the same score back so fair play there in other words.

This country was one of the first to choose its song and then the artist who won probably got a lot of attention for a vocal performance that was not very much to shout hurray for.

Then it’s nice that she used the time until the performance in Malmö well and took many steps up in the vocal aspect, even though she still has a little way to go, but it is possible that so much time was spent to get to the point that they forgot to make a performance that could captivate those watching.

I feel the whole performance appears rather boring and bland and even if they use all the aids in terms of stage, she doesn’t get the audience who are watching properly fired up and with several rock songs in the mix in this semi-final, our Czech friend probably couldn’t stand enough, I’m afraid , although as mentioned earlier it almost held.

This country relatively in the middle of Europe has had some good years recently and should probably just continue on the line they are on now, they serve us young fresh pop music and you just have to like that, a small semi-final failure should not get them from it.
