Ida Andia from Romania looks at Denmark today in her review of which songs will progress to the Grand final of the Eurovision song contest in Tel Aviv.
Denmark, the 2014 host of the Eurovision Song Contest, sends this year a young singer Leonora, who has an amazing experience at the Figure Skating Competitions. I like that the song is positive, the title as well ”Love is forever”. I like very much the part with the French and the Danish words. I read an interesting fact: it’s the first multilingual entry from Denmark in Eurovision and also the first Danish entry with Danish lyrics since the abolishment of the language rule in 1999! But unfortunately, I don’t think Denmark could qualify in the Grand Final.
Ida Andia now turns her sights onto Sweden in her discussion as to which of the songs in semi final 2 will make it to the Grand final.
Never too late for Sweden. They always send great entries to the Eurovision Song Contest. This year is no exception. I really love the lyrics and the song, Too late for love, even if it is a little repetitive, it is still catchy. It will be interesting how John Lundvik, the co-writer for the 2019’s entry of United Kingdom, representing Sweden, will ”fight” in the Grand Final with this country who is pre-qualified, thanks to being one of the Big Five.
Ida Andia from Romania tackle today one of the Baltic countries, Latvia to announce whether she feels it will make the Eurovision final or not.
”That Night” by Carousel is a chill song; I really like the sweet voice of the singer but sometimes the lyrics are too repetitive and in the final you could fall asleep. It’s relaxing, but even so I think that this Baltic country will not pass in the final.
After a break of one day, Ida Andia from Romania is back to discuss the entries of semi final 2. Today she looks at Austria.
After a TOP 3 in Lisbon last year, the 2015 host country could stop their road in the semi final in Tel Aviv. Paenda seems to be an interesting artist, but her song is not my favourite in this semi final. It is not the type of a melody that I will put all the day on repeat. It has some LIMITS.
Ida Andia continues her predictions of the 18 songs in semi final 2 of the 2019 Eurovision song contest and today she looks as AZERBAIJAN.
After a non-qualification in 2018, Azerbaijan comes with a great song. “Truth”, performed by Chingiz, is a modern one, so innovative, with a great vibe. I am addicted to this.
Welcome back in the Final, Azerbaijan!
Ida India from Romania has now turned her attention to the second semi final and today she looks at IRELAND.
The Irish entry is a song called ”22” performed by Sarah McTernan. I think it’s a sweet radio song, a friendly one. The lyrics are simple but being in the first half or this semi-final, it could be easily forgotten. Maybe they will remain in the semi-final. I really enjoy the last songs of Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest.
Having finished predicting on the chances of the 17 entries in semi final 1 to make the 2019 final, Ida Andia now turns to the 18 songs competing in semi final 2.
The first song that I choose for begin the semi-final two is Switzerland. Even if they had strong entries over the years, they did not pass to the Final most times, and especially last year. Now, this country sends a popular singer Luca Hanni, who could sing and dance very well on the stage. She got me is a catchy song who could easily end in TOP 3. Sounds really cool. It is really a fight for the trophy!
