After two years of really being spoilt with beautiful promo singles from the Czech republic (and also a lot), this year in Lisbon they did not have a promo single. They did have some items and a USB stick but so we asked Stephan Herholdt to design a promo single for LIE TO ME.
Next up in our designs of promo items of Eurovision 2018 is CROATIA. It is her song CRAZY by Franka. There was no promo single – they had a USB stick which were given only to certain people. The promo single by Stephan Herholdt is special as it displays a photo of her recent wedding to her football boyfriend.
Russia did have promo items like t-shirts and jerseys and a USB stick, but no physical single and that is why this was designed for I WON’T BREAK by Stephan Herholdt.
In the recent past, Belgium promo singles have been difficult to near impossible to get due to the small volumes printed. In Lisbon, ESC Covers did not see anyone with a copy of Belgium, so it could be that they did not even print any. We display today the one Stephan Herholdt created for Belgium – SENNEK with A MATTER OF TIME.
The last of the missing ones from the Nordic countries -ICELAND. Their entry is called OUR CHOICE and it is sung by ARI OLAFSSON. It is a real pity this ended last in semi final one – for ESC Covers we had it 4th out of the 43 songs. Ari is so charming and has a great voice so hopefully we will see him again at Eurovision in future.
Only one of the 5 Nordic countries (Sweden) had a promo CD in Lisbon. We already looked at those created for Norway and Denmark and now we look at the one for FINLAND. It is MONSTERS by SAARA AALTO. Like all the 15 designs we will feature Stephan Herholdt designed it so it looks like a series.
We move from Norway to their southern neighbour DENMARK. For several years Denmark has stopped making promo singles which is really a pity as they have had some good entries in recent years. Here is the one of HIGHER GROUND by RASMUSSEN, again designed by Stephan Herholdt.
