Matheu has been selected to represent the Netherlands at the 2019 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. He won the Junior Songfestival with his song Dans Met Jou (Dance with you).

The four finalists were –

• Moves – Make Your Move 
• Mannes – Let Me Sing
• 6Times – End Of Time
• Matheu – Dans Met Jou

The voting was a combination of adult jury, kids jury and televoting. Matheu gained the top marks from all three of the voting combinations.
