As the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest is cancelled a special programme will be broadcast on 16 May called Eurovision: Europe Shine A Light. It will bring together fans and viewers from all over Europe and the world.

All 41 countries that were originally competing will be honoured in the show but not in a competitive way. 45 countries will broadcast the show including Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kazakhstan and Kosovo.

The programme will be produced by the EBU and Dutch broadcasters, NPO, NOS and AVROTROS. The presenters will be those chosen for the Eurovision Song Contest – Chantal Janzen, Edsilia Rombley and Jan Smit.

The 41 chosen acts will do a unique version of the 1997 United Kingdom winning Eurovision song, Love Shine A Light, by Katrina & The Waves.
