Georgia ‘Ranina’ finalists revealed

Ranina’s penultimate show aired this evening as the semi final was broadcast and the three artists who will compete in next weeks final revealed.

The five artists who won through from the themed rounds each performed this evening with Georgian artists ‘The Quintessence’.

Sandra Gadelia, Rati Gelovani and Marita Khvedelidze ultimately progressed through to next weeks final, where; if the show follows the same format of previous years, each artist will perform two songs before the winner is chosen.

Sofia Feskova and her interview with Teledetki tv in Russia

Sofia Feskova will soon represent Russia at the 2020 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with her song My New Day (Moy novyy den). Sofia has just done an interview for the children’s Teledetki tv channel based in St Petersburg, Russia.

Two correspondents from Teledetki tv, Darya Marchenko and Adele Fattakhova, interviewed Sofia and talked about her rehearsals and her plans for Junior Eurovision.

Sofia told how she starts each day and how she prepares for school. Then she goes to the rehearsal studio every day to prepare for Junior Eurovision. The school of Igor Krutov is helping with all the preparations for Sofia, and they put her through difficult but important rehearsal procedures each day to make a Junior Eurovision performance as perfect as it can be.

The 2020 Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place on 29 November. We wish Sofia lots of luck for the competition.

Armenia withdraws from Junior Eurovision

The official Junior Eurovision website today announced that Armenia has withdrawn from this years contest in Poland, citing issues related to the introduction of martial law in the region as a result of the ongoing conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) as the reason.

Further information was also revealed on the official Aremenia in Eurovision Facebook page, where we learnt that singer Maléna Fox had been selected and a song recorded.

On her Instagram page, Maléna posted “Considering the message of the song, our team and me have decided to release the song in the nearest future. Stay tuned, subscribe to my youtube channel for upcoming news.”

Ranina Semi finalists revealed

The last themed round of ‘Ranina’ concluded this evening with the remaining five artists performing and the semi finalists being revealed.

Progressing to the semi finals are:  Sandra Gadelia  – Rati Gelovani  – Marita Khvedelidze – Nia Khinchikashvil – Shio Kavsadze

Performing this evening were:

Marita Khvedelidze – Journey To The Past –  119/120 points

Shio Kavsadze – A Million Dreams – 117/120 points

Nikoloz Maghradze – I See The Light – 113/120 points

Veronika Shamugia – Almost There – 120/120 points

Malta release official video for Chasing Sunsets

TV Malta today released the official video for their Junior Eurovision 2020 entry ‘Chasing sunsets’ by Chanel Monseigneur

According to the comments posted with the video ‘Chanel Monseigneur will be accompanied with this cartoon video during her JESC experience’ – so expect to see the animation used as a backdrop for Chanel’s final video performance which will be filmed in Malta in the coming weeks.

Junior Eurovision stage design photo’s released

With filming for their artists Junior Eurovision Final performances already underway in several countries, the official Junior Eurovision channel today released the first images of the official stage design.

To maintain consistency across performances, all participating countries will be expected to match the stage requirements in studios if they choose to film in their own country.  Alternatively, delegations also have the option to film in Poland, with several countries (though which countries has not been confirmed) opting to travel to Warsaw to film.

The circle is at the centre of the stage design with Anna Brodnicka, author of the concert’s scenography saying “The circle has always been a symbol of perfectness, life and unity,”

Filming underway for Kazakhstan Junior Eurovision performance video

With the change to this years rules, many countries will be filming their Junior Eurovision entries in the coming weeks.

Following the guidelines set by the EBU, all countries must conform to same stage layout for submitted entries.

Several images of Karakat Bashanova filming her Kazakhstan entry have appeared on social media over the past few days.

The first image shows the young performer in an elaborate over-sized dress and the second a pair of wings can be seen.

Sofia Feskova releases official music video for ‘My New Day’

Sofia Feskova will soon represent Russia at the 2020 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The official preview music video has been released of My New Day.

Sofia won the Russia Junior national selection back in September. The Russian title is Moy novyy den.

Sofia is 11 years old and she said about My New Day “The meaning of the song is that one should never give up, keep going and fill every day with generosity and happiness”.

Ranina Georgia selection begins final tour

Ranina, the Georgian selection show for Junior Eurovision has begun it’s final ‘tour’ and following the format of previous years the final themed show was songs from Musicals.

With Rati Gelovania & Sandra Gadelia top of the leaderboard prior to the show, each of the 10 contestants will perform for one final time before the top 5 progress to the semi final.
