Morten Thomassen, who does not have a HEART OF STEAL, looks at the Ukrainian entry and its chances to give Ukraine a second win in a row. ESC Covers google translated it from Norwegian to English.
This year we have the somewhat special situation that a country cannot organize the final, for obvious reasons, but still participates in organizing with those who do and gets to have their flag in this year’s Eurovision logo.
We are of course talking about Ukraine and it was the duo TVORCHI who already before Christmas won the national final and thus became the first song we were introduced to out of this year’s 37 entries.
For understandable reasons, the song “Heart Of Steel” is high on the bookmakers’ charts and one should not be surprised if this country wins this year as well.
However, most people agree that this year’s song is possibly a little less Ukrainian, if you understand what I mean, this song could well have come from all 37 participating countries.
But, despite the lack of Ukrainian expression in the song, this is very modern and at the same time and one must have a heart of steel not to be moved by the message in the song.
As co-organizers, our Ukrainian friends are already in the final and there they will end up high on the list and it will be deserved.
