The 7th competition in our ten part series involves again something to do with ABBA. In 1969 Bjorn and Benny released a song in Swedish called HEJ GAMLE MAN which became quite a big hit. I only heard the song for the first time in 1996 and loved it from the first minute and I always wanted it to be covered. Steven Sterling did it, both in English and in Afrikaans.
The Afrikaans title is KLEIN PIK SOENTJIES (Small cheek kisses) and the English title is SHOW ME THE WAY.
A copy of this will be handed to the ABBA museum but we have two copies for Bjorn and Benny fans.
The question is – if Bjorn and Benny ask you for which 2016 artist should they compose a song, who will you suggest and why?

Good question Roy today I would say Adle because her voice match well the artists they have been writing for in the past like the late Josefin Nielson On another hand they really have not been very succesful with male singers and I could imagine someone like Guy Sebastian maybe
Great question!
I think I’d ask them to pen a song for Ira losco of malta. She’s super bubbly, friendly and most importantly, can sing in any style. I could easily see her tackling an ABBA cover and really doing it justice. She’s also been around a while and will really be able to make it her own
I like this question… For me, I would love to hear them compose a song for Juri Pootsmann from Estonia. Such a deep voice could contrast well with something a little more poptastic behind it. It would be a hard task to make it work… But they are geniuses after all!
I remember Bjorn and Benny did write a special song for ESC Malmo 2013.
So I think it would be wonderful if they did the same for Stockholm 2016- and if they did this the best suited artist I think would be Sarah Dawn Finer, She has a perfect vocal range and a style that suites todays Bjorn and Benny tunes.
I would suggest two artists singing together -Sergey and Jamala-
Bjorn and Benny could definetely bring cheerfulness between these two countries with their composing talent.
