One might think that a country at war due to an attack from a neighboring country did well only based on sympathy votes, and that is probably also true this year, all the while that Ukrainian Alyona Alyona and Jerry Heil received slightly more than twice as many votes from the people as from the juries, but I would still like to claim that high-quality music in many of the sections also helps when it comes to getting high on the results list.

Already after only 19 participations, this country has won 3 times and is also the only country that has not felt the disappointment of not qualifying for the final, and there is little indication that they will happen in the near future either, where have a good tendency to choose good songs that have that little extra needed to collect enough points to do well.

Compared to expectations, they came a little higher on the results list than expected, but that is probably due to the fact that the two ladies Alyona and Jerry once again showed that our Ukrainian friends know how to perform a song on the TV screen to make themselves heard and this time it did so from the previously postponed starting position number 2, the only starting number that has never won since the ESC began.

There is a gloomy melancholy over the whole song and they bring it out in their performance in an outstanding way and when the vocals are as good as they are here, there is basically little to complain about what you get to experience and in this sense they ended up on a hero deserved place and it’s good to see that good musical craftsmanship is rewarded as it is here.

Nothing would have been better for this country to be able to participate next as a country that is at peace and thus can look forward instead of dealing with the serious situation they are in, if that happens I hope it happens with a happy song, feel that the quota of melancholic songs they have had lately, which is understandable, is perhaps starting to be used up a bit.
