Obviously, the name Elen Yeremyan didn’t have enough artist-name qualities, so you end up calling yourself Brunette and this is a lady who does most of the work herself, so both the lyrics and music for the song “Future Lover” came solely from herself.
Even though she turned 22 just a few days after the international final, making music is supposed to be something she’s been doing since she was 4 years old, so a bit of a veteran in that area in other words.
Our Armenian friend made it to the final by getting a 6th place in her semi-final, it became a 14th place in the final after she respectively came in 12th place with the jury with 69 points and 13th place with the people with 53 points from them, so in other words the song was a bit more jury food than folk food and she was only 8 points short of a top-ten position.
Last year’s Armenian song that finished in 20th place when “Snap” with Rosa Linn became one that we all remember in the end is a world hit, I think this song probably won’t be.
Well placed on her slanted white podium, the lady has good control over the vocals in the song, helped by the fact that invisible choruses are there.
If this is supposed to be a personals ad to get a new girlfriend, I’m not sure if she got so many people to take her bait by doing it this way.
At first the song has a slightly slow start, then it takes off very much in something similar to rap, then we get a dance break before it ends with a bit of slowness again and then the quota of good diction has also been used up, although something in the last verse is sung in Armenian and thus automatically becomes incomprehensible to many.
I feel that a lot of people thought that the song was simply too messy, but by all means, 14th place is a respectable position and there was probably a good part of those who watched who would like to be lovers with this lady.
We have to ask the Armenian delegation whether the marital status of Brunette next year is single or in a relationship.
