KAREL GOTT is probably the biggest artist ever to come out of the old Czechoslovakia. He has recorded between 500 and 700 songs in his  career. Roy van der Merwe of ESC Covers is a big fan of Karel, who represented Austria in the 1968 Eurovision song contest with a song composed by Udo Jurgens called TAUSEND FENSTER.

For a couple of weeks, we will publish several KAREL GOTT songs in  the Czech language – songs that have been big hits in English by other artists.

The forth song is JSOU SVATLY. The original is Brandy by Scott English but Barry Manilow covered it in English as Mandy.
