The Selecţia Naţională 2022 (Eurovision selection) in Romania includes Alexa with her song Hoodies and cold nights. It is a radio friendly and  contemporary pop track.

Hoodies and cold nights has the music by Radu Bolfea, Inaki Calvo Medel with lyrics by Alexa Niculae and Radu Bolfea.

Alexa Niculae wrote the lyrics for Yodel It! by Ilinca feat. Alex Florea, the song that represented Romania at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest. Alexa has previously taken part in Romanian Eurovision selections in 2009 and 2010 and composed for other acts too.

There will be series of shows beginning on TVR this weekend – ‘Drumul spre Torino’ (Road to Turin – ironically hosted by Illinca from 2017 ESC).

The live performances of all participants in the selection will be broadcast and then made available on YouTube. The public can then vote on Facebook on 9 and 10 February for the five songs they would like to go to the final. An expert jury will select another 15 songs. At the moment there are currently 46 songs in contention.
