Hayk “Hayko” Hakobyan died aged 44 on 29 September 2021 in Yerevan, after contracting COVID-19 amid the COVID-19 pandemic in Armenia.
After being recognized as the Best Singer 2003 and 2006 at the Armenian National Music Awards, Hayko won Armenia’s national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2007.
He represented Armenia in Helsinki in the Grand Final with the song Anytime You Need which finished in 8th place.
