BELARUS AT EUROVISION – 2004

Belarusian broadcaster BTRC has been suspended by the EBU and therefore Belarus is not allowed to participate in Eurovision events. Let’s take a look at what Belarus has brought to the Eurovision Song Contest since 2004.

Belarusian broadcaster BTRC entered a song for the first time in the Eurovision Song contest in 2004. A national final to select the entry was organized and took place on 31 January 2004. Fifteen songs participated in the competition and the winner was selected exclusively via a public televoting and internet voting. The national final was won by the song My Galileo performed by Aleksandra & Konstantin. The song was written by Aleksey Solomaha, Aleksandra and Konstantin.
As this was Belarus’ debut, the country had to compete in the semi-final of the 2004 Contest, held on 12 May 2004. The duo performed second, after Finland and before Switzerland. They ended 19th with 10 points, failing to qualify for the Grand Final.
