38TH PLACE IN EUROVISION 2022 – BULGARIA

Morten Thomassen from Norway has just discussed position 38 in the 2022 Eurovision song contest. ESC Covers google translate it again to English from the Norwegian.

When you form a band, the choice of band name is one of the first choices you have to make and you have to wonder what other alternatives the Bulgarian band that came in 38th place this year had.

Because if Intelligent Music Project was the best proposal, I feel like Ronny, Bisser, Slavin. Ivo, Dimiter and Stoyan could have spent a little more time on just that name choice.

Another thing is that maybe you should have spent more time choosing a song when you were first asked to participate for your country in ESC, what they sent was very unoriginal, actually a concoction of songs we heard many of for some decades since.

It is not so many years since we thought that Bulgaria could soon be a country that could take the trophy home, they sent songs that were original with remarkable performances, but they were very far away this year given.

Possibly they thought that since rock was the thing in 2021, you should take that train, well then they did not choose a high-speed train, this was probably a more reliable diesel train musically.

The song “Intention” possibly had intentions to capture, but it is very possible that those who were big fans of poodle rock once in the 80’s were not in a poodle mood during the first semifinal.

Only 29 points were collected and if you take away the points from the good friends Albania and Greece, they are left with 5 lousy points from Moldova.

Unlike the boys’ band LPS from Slovenia who were young and inexperienced, the guys in IMP as they might have called their band showed that it is a joy to watch experienced musicians on a stage.

There was nothing to complain about what they delivered on stage and it is a pity that it is not allowed to perform music live on stage, I think these guys had clearly slipped.

But, tons of experience and lots of pyro and futt on stage help so goddamn little when the song itself is a little bang-bongbong musically.

This was the first time since 2013 that this country did not qualify, so one can hope that some musically intelligent in that country choose a musical project that can do the trick in ESC.
