Morten Thomassen of Norway is writing over a possible candidate in the 2024 Norwegian selection for Eurovision.
Another of the former winners, with whom there is extra heated speculation as to whether we will see them again, is our friends in the trio KEiiNO.
In many ways it is probably the case that they have their biggest fan base precisely among the ESC fans and they are always welcomed when they go to concerts where ESC music is most prominent.
I saw that myself when they were the main guests at EuroCLub in Liverpool, where there was a full house and thunderous cheers, not least when “Spirit In The Sky” was played.
Alexandra, Tom Hugo and Fred got off to a great start to their careers with first place in MGP-2019 and a great 6th place in the final, only three sour points behind Sweden and we remember the big raisin in the sausage this year, we won the telephone vote .
In other words, it was a bit incomprehensible, the juries who refused Norway a better position than the one we got and just two years later KEiiNO was back in the Norwegian final with a song they themselves said should be more to the juries’ taste, but then the Norwegian people it different.
A guy named Tix took the rat out of them and the song “Monuments” won nothing but a fair amount of radio play and actually the OGAE Second Chance Contest 2021 poll, in this poll only fans vote for songs that didn’t win in the national the final.
Personally, I actually like their latest MGP entry better than the one they got to travel to ESC with and am quite sure that they probably missed out on a top-5 finish in Rotterdam in 2021.
But, let’s look ahead, the group themselves have recently dropped a hint that new music is on the way with a very short video of some glittering lips, so the natural question is whether new participation is a sparkling idea.
The song is released quite coincidentally on 5 January, so then most MGP fans probably assume that new participation from KEiiNO is basically bankers’.
Well, they must have a song that actually surpasses their two previous contributions, I’m going to be impressed and why not believe that they will come up with it, one thing is for sure, they have 100% the right attitude for an ESC participation, they have already shown that .
