Ukraine will be represented by Sofia Rol and her song Planet Craves For Love at the 2016 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Malta in November. Let us look back at the history of Ukraine at Junior Eurovision.
Ukraine first participated in the Junior Eurovision in 2006 with Nazar Slyusarchuk and Khlopchyk Rock ‘n’ Roll and finished in ninth place. They won the contest in 2012 with Anastasiya Petryk and Nebo and her elder sister Viktoria Petryk finished in second place in 2008 with Matrosy.
Besides Anastasiya and Viktoria there have been classic entries by Kristall from 2011 and Evropa and Anna Trincher from 2015 with Pochny z sebe. We also had Yuliya Gurska in 2010 with Mii Litak and the all girl group Sympho-Nick with Pryyde vesna in 2014 and the catchy Urok Glamuru by Ilona Galitska in 2007.
ESC Covers has chosen Sofia Tarasova from 2013 with We Are One as our favourite. You can see Sofia sing her song below.
Very good song – does Junior songs not have the 3 minute limitation like Senior songs do?
