TUESDAY 2 MAY REHEARSALS – AUSTRALIA

Closing out the second Semi-Final  rehearsals will be our final band of the day. It is the Australian synth-metal rockers Voyager singing their track Promise. The band has been together since 1999 and have toured the world many times over, so they’re no strangers to a big stage.

Eurovision.tv says this is an absolute STOMPER of a tune to finish off the second Semi-final – with the 80s-style synths leading into a big old rock chorus. It manages to sound distinctively Australian AND fabulously Eurovision at the same time, which is a great indicator of how much Australia have rolled themselves in Eurovision glitter since they joined the contest in 2015. Voyager look like absolute pros, and are rocking both the Liverpool stage and those sequined houndstooth check outfits.

Eurovision.tv reports they also have a car on stage, which we saw in the prop store yesterday and wondered who it belonged to. We know nothing about cars, so I’m afraid we can’t tell you the make or model. It looks 80s and sporty – that’s the best we can do at this time, but we’ll find out more before second rehearsals. Pyro ends the show and also the second semi final.

Stephan Herholdt designed of course also a promo single of the Australian entry for ESC Covers and here it is.
