Sophia Ivanko joined the ranks of Junior Eurovision stars releasing Christmas singles this year with the release of a collaboration ‘Christmas Miracle’ with Alekander Balabanov and INAKSHI.
Sophie was invited to sing in early December by Alexey Dontsov (OGAE Ukraine) and after being presented with a draft of the song; which received a positive reaction from Sophia and her team, friends, Ukrainian YouTubers Alekander Balabanov and INAKSH also joined the one off project which was recorded earlier this week.

After delighting us with her enchanting performance of ‘The spirit of music’ in Junior Eurovision in Poland in November, the multi talented Sophie Ivanko (Stage name Sophy Ivy) is starting to work on her first album and hopes to achieve her goal with the help of crowdfunding website Patreon.
The album will comprise the best of more than 17 original, self penned songs which Sophia has written over the past few years.

ESC Covers caught up with Sophia here at the Gliwice Arena. She is enjoying the experience and is excited by this big opportunity to share her music with the rest of the world. Sophia composed her song herself and has been writing music since a young girl.
Sophia took part in The Voice Kids Ukraine and her mentor was Jamala (the winner of Eurovision in 2016 for Ukraine). She gained a lot of valuable tips and inspirations from Jamala.
Ukraine has released the official video for its 2019 Junior Eurovision entry, the re-titled ‘The Spirit Of Music’.
The reworked version includes new lyrics and music in English which have been added to Sophia’s original composition by Mykhailo Tolmachov.

In describing the song, Sophia says “Music has incredible transforming power. It is a universal key to inner happiness. If any problems cause you distress, you can bring up your internal energy by singing the melody that comes from your heart.”
The music video was shot in the port area of Kiev and includes a couple of brief cameo appearances including from last years contestant Darina Krasnovetska
With the upcoming Junior Eurovision contest only a few months away, national selections for many countries are now well underway.
To date, we have 7 confirmed artists and one confirmed song from the Ukraine, who selected Sophia Ivanko with “Koly zdaietsi” ahead of some strong competition.
