COVER2COVER – T-SHIRT
On 23rd August 2020 we (ESC Covers, EuroVisionMusic, Eurovision Coverage and Destination Eurovision) started publishing pictures of VICTOR BUSH modeling a Eurovision t-shirt and holding the promo material for that entry. It is to make artists aware of entering the COVER2COVER SINGING contest we were arranging. Having received just 3 entries by the end of August – one in each of the 3 categories, it was clear we cannot have a competition with just 3 local entries. We had a rethink over the concept. As of 1 October, the COVER2COVER concept will change but it won’t be a competition anymore. It will be a PROMOTION PLATFORM where we will give exposure and promotion to any Eurovision related cover – an artist can send us any such song whether it is a professional video, a home video of just an audio video. There are also no limit on how many songs/videos an artist can send. The closing date will be 28 February 2021 so we can look at all entries ahead of the 2021 Eurovision song contest in Rotterdam in May 2021. A radio station RADIO 5XSTEREO has joined us as a partner. Today we publish the 20th t-shirt. We are then taking a break until 1 October when the PROMOTION PLATFORM starts and will then publish the remaining 10 t-shirts and 10 Eurovision bags. So the 20th t-shirt is one is from 2018 Eurovision song contest in Lisbon, Portugal together together with the official double CD.
Lisbon confirmed as the host city for 2018 Eurovision Song Contest
Lisbon has been confirmed as the host city of the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest. The semi-finals will be on 8 and 10 May with the grand final on Saturday 12 May.
After the victory by Salvador Sobral with Amar Pelos Dois in Ukraine in May this year it will be the pleasure for Portugal to hold the contest for the very first time.
The Executive Supervisor of the EBU, Jon Ola Sand, told the press “We are very pleased to announce that RTP will be hosting the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon. The City has presented an exemplary proposal, and we look forward to working together to make Portugal’s first ever Eurovision the most exciting one yet. We would like to congratulate RTP on their professional and detailed assessments of all the bids.”
