MILLENNIUM WINNER FOR THE CZECH REPUBLIC
Norbert started with a marathon voting for the best songs of the new millennium.
The 13th voting was for the entries from THE CZECH REPUBLIC.
This country does not have many entries, and so the choices were limited. The winner was the group LAKE MALAWI from 2019 and their song FRIEND OF A FRIEND.
Albert Černý releases new single ‘Nová Láska’
Albert Černý has released a brand new single entitled Nová Láska (New love). The song is performed in the Czech language and is a contemporary pop rock song with a strong production that begin slowly and builds and builds.
Albert is a member of Lake Malawi, who represented Czech Republic at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest with Friend Of A Friend. He was also in the grand final of the Polish Eurovision selection, ‘Szansa na Sukces’, in 2020 with the song Lucy.
Nová Láska is available to purchase or stream via many digital stores including iTunes, Spotify, Deezer, YouTube Music and more.

HOME VIDEOS – SAY NA NA NA – LAKE MALAWI
During the lock down in Europe over the Eurovision period in May, many Eurovision singers did home videos of other Eurovision artists songs. In the wake of ESC COVERS COVER2COVER singing competition, we will feature some of these so South African artists in particular can get an idea how it is done. Nor Bert of EuroVisionMusic picked the ones as he followed the whole series.
First up is LAKE MALAWI from the CZECH REPUBLIC ( who took part in Eurovision 2019, covering the Eurovision entry from SAN MARINO 2019 – SAY NA NA NA of SERHAT.
Lake Malawi new song ‘Lucy’ will be the song Albert Černý will sing in Szansa na Sukces final in Poland
The brand new single released by Lake Malawi is called Lucy. However, this song will be the one that lead singer Albert Černý will sing in the 2020 Szansa na Sukces final in Poland. So, if he wins this could be the song he will represent Poland with at the 2020 Eurovision in Rotterdam.
Lake Malawi represented Czech Republic with the popular Friend Of A Friend at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv.

STUCK IN THE 80’S – LAKE MALAWI
The group LAKE MALAWI from CZECH REPUBLIC have a new song out called STUCK IN THE 80’S. They represented their country at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv.
Stuck In The 80s is composed by Albert Černý, Dominik Buczkowski-Wojtaszek and Koos Kamerling.
Lake Malawi presented with special tea
ESC Covers met up with the Czech Republic act, Lake Malawi, at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest and presented them with some tea from Malawi.
The guys were very cheerful and posed for photos as well as chatting. ESC Covers told them the song should be a big hit. It has a great summer vibe.

Thank you so much to Krystof Samal, head of promotion and publicity for the band LAKE MALAWI for getting the group to send a special message to ESCCovers and expressing their thoughts with the people of Malawi after that country had been through a lot last week due to a cyclone.

SEMI FINAL ONE 2019 – CZECH REPUBLIC
Ida Andia of Romania continues to look at the 17 entries from semi final 1 for the 2019 Eurovision song contest and predict which ones will make it to the final.
The third country I am looking at is the Czech Republic. I really don’t understand why many people hate the song. It’s a radio song, so friendly. Sometimes it seems to be repetitive but that’s why is catchy. It’s not as good as ”Lie to me” (the last entry of Czech Republic and the best one for this country has send to Eurovision), but the Czech republic could qualify. Lake Malawi is a popular band in their country. The video is interesting too.
