SPOTLIGHT ON SA ARTISTS – HAROLD WALTBERG

Harold Waltberg started with vocal training in 2012 at the age of 17 whilst attending high school in Tzaneen, Limpopo. After high school he moved to Centurion where he attended the Open Window School of Visual Communication, studying towards a BA Degree in Graphic Design which he completed in 2015. Since then he have been working as a Marketing assistant for HANNON, a cosmetic company based in Sandton.

He has had a love for classical music from an early age since he was given his first Josh Groban album at the age of 11. This has been a great inspiration to him throughout his career and has helped to shape him as a performing artist.

When he moved to Centurion, he successfully auditioned to be accepted into CC Vocal Studios and receive further vocal training under SA Tenor Chris Coetzer. During this time he had the opportunity to attend various functions and concerts with Chris Coetzer and accompany him on his shows, learning the essentials of performing.

After his time with Chris Coetzer he joined the Centurion Performance Academy and received classical training under well-known Classical Vocal Coach, Jolanda Becker. He is presently still being trained by Jolanda Becker.

He has had the opportunity to perform at various events such as Innibos as well as a variety of other festivals. He has planned and arranged solo concerts as well, and recently launched his first album featuring songs from the likes of Josh Groban, Phil Coulter and Elvis Costello.

He has also recently launched his own professional digital platform in the form of a website (www.haroldwaltberg.co.za) which gives further information on his career as well as snippets of the songs from his album and images of himself.
