Today we can announce that a forth partner joins the COVER2COVER singing competition. Besides ESC Covers, EuroVisionMusic and Eurovision coverage, DESTINATION EUROVISION joins us. This one is one special as it is the first non English partner. DESTINATION EUROVISION is based in POLAND and headed by SEBASTIAN MNICH and he and his team will translate most of our posts in Polish for the Eurovision audience there. Interest in Eurovision increased rapidly the last few years in Poland after this country won both the 2018 and 2019 Junior Eurovision song contests.
Journalists from Destination Eurovision website in Poland gave us their opinions about the 2019 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
Sebastian Mnich likes Ukraine. He thinks the performance of Sophia Ivanko and The Spirit Of Music is original and she has the advantage and confidence and inspiration of Jamala (the 2016 Eurovision winner for Ukraine), who was a mentor for Sophia on The Voice Kids. However, Sebastian thinks the winner will probably come from Spain or France this year.
Roksana Majewska told ESC Covers her personal favourite is Eliana Gomez Blanco with We Are More. However, she thinks France will take the honours on Sunday.
France held the first semi-final of their national selection called Destination Eurovision and four acts qualified from nine acts. The nine participants were –
Lisandro Cuxi – Eva
Malo – Ciao
Noée – L’un près de l’autre
Elha – J’ai cru Masoé – Paradis
Emmy Lyianna – OK ou KO
Louka – Mamma Mia
Enea – I’ll Be There
Pheno Men – Jamais sans toi
Masoé – Paradis
The results were decided by an international jury including Christer Bjorkman from Sweden and the Eurovision Heads of Delegation from Italy and Belarus. The French jury included Amir (who represented France at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest).
