Hello everyone!Apologies for the late start… However here is the first song for review of the performance live. As Roy mentioned, we are commenting on the performance (staging, costume, engagement etc.) and it is 2 points per song per person that chooses to comment.
We will start in the running order of semi finalists who failed to qualify (starting with the first semi) and move into the grand final from there.
We would like to add an additional component. Could we ask that each person places a score between 0 and 10 for each performance through to escvotes@gmail.com.
You can choose to do it song by song or all 42 at once should you wish. At the end of the 42 songs, we will tally up the votes and fund ROW’s favourite song of the year.
So….
Song 1: FINLAND
(15th in semi final 1 : 51 points)
Artist: Sandhja
Song: Sing It Away
Music and Lyric: Sandhja, Milos Rosas, Heikki Korhonen, Petri Matara, Markus Savijoki

As promised, we will mention each song to be reviewed also on the website so those 10% who do not have facebook knows which song for the day is being reviewed.
Finland 2016 had a good upbeat song that i liked from the first time i listened to it,
The stage performance was good, It was in my top ten for the first semi final.
Shame it didn’t make it in final
Sandhja was an early favorite for me. She’s such a character with infectious energy.
I followed her through UMK and thought Sing It Away was on trend (90s sound), fun, and upbeat. I really thought the song would resonate with the audience and it’d do well.
Sandhja’s performance at Eurovision was what I expected. Wearing a simple blue sleeveless jumpsuit, she sang well, hit the high notes, had energy, and engaged the crowd. Honestly, it felt like she owned the stage and gave it her all.
The backup singers, though, had changed from the UMK final. Instead of standing at microphones, they danced around the floor and didn’t sound as well as they could have. I thought they ultimately distracted from Sandhja’s performance.
In the end, the audience didn’t agree and she didn’t make it to the final. The song is a grower. But I think Sandhja is very resilient and her career is just beginning to bud. I hope to see her again.
Fantastic song but seeing them perform live at the Euroclub it seemed to come across better than in the arena. I thought it would have been a no-brainer to go through to the final, though.
