REVIEW OF THE OPENING PARTY

We got this review of the opening party

All of Sunday was taken by a stream of official welcome events. Early Sunday morning featured a flag lifting ceremony with all forty-two flags hosted next to EuroClub. Yes, they had installed forty-three flagpoles and had to take one down last week. Måns and Petra have now also arrived into full view after their Press Conference, sitting down for some interviews as well. With those formalities out the way back down in the evening we had the Red Carpet event before the official Opening Ceremony.

Afterwards we had the Opening Party taking over EuroClub and Fan Cafe. Wow. The DJ from Australia was amazing. People who have met me might have seen me be uber-critical, but never in a EuroClub have I got such goosebumps. With the dance floor full and artists on the balcony, the lovewave that erupted towards them was very special as fans sang along to their hits. Christer Björkman managed to organise some acts to come down and perform on the stage – which was one of the smartest moves ever made with them all being adored.

Stockholm City in their wisdom had a ‘normal’ DJ booked on the main dancefloor after and the exodus to Fan Cafe when he came on was a delight to witness in a ‘told you so’ way
