Latvia have begun the search for their act for the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest. 10 acts competed in the first round of the Supernova national selection. Four acts progressed to the next phase.

The 10 acts were –

• Paula Dukure – Look In The Mirror
• ElektroFolk – Miracle Drums
• Rūta Dūduma – Being A Friend
• Ivo Grīsniņš-Grīslis – We Are The Light
• Sabīne Berezina – My Inspiration
• Edvards Grieze – New Day
• Marta Grigale – Choices
• Catalepsia – Damnation
• Samanta Tīna – We Live For Love
• Justs – Heartbeat

Voting was a combination of jury and televoting. The four acts to qualify were –

1. Justs – (Televoting)
2. Catalepsia –  (Televoting)
3. Ivo Grīsniņš-Grīslis –  (Jury)
4. Marta Grigale – (Jury)
