Krista Šujak is a rising young star from Malta and she impressed many at the Sanremo Junior World Finals 2021 festival in Italy. She received the prestigious ‘Special Mention’ award by the expert jury.
Krista performed the song Anyone by Demi Lovato and she gave a confident and polished show. She worked with the Sanremo orchestra who gave a great arrangement to the song.
Krista Šujak is 14 years old. Her mother is Maltese and her father is from Croatia. She has already had much success at local festivals achieving fantastic results. Krista has also taken part in international competitions such as ‘Tra sogno e realita’ and ‘Una stella sta nasciendo’ in Italy. She also took part in the Hybla Music Festival in Sicily, Italy and twice in the Magic Flute festival in Croatia. She was in a kids competition also in Romania. Krista has appeared in the popular tv show, ‘The Entertainers – Singing Challenge’ in Malta, where she sings with a live band. She took third place in the 2020-21 edition.
In Malta, Krista finished in the top 3 several times in the tv competition ‘Sajf ma Gaffiero’ and also locally she took the Grand Prix awards at local festivals organised by Singer Stage and Ally El Entertainment (including singer of the year).
Krista has taken part in Sanremo Junior Malta, winning her category in 2019 and then she was a finalist in 2020. The main contest was cancelled in 2020 due to the world health situation. But she was invited back for this year’s edition of Sanremo Junior together with another Maltese singer.
Krista released the song, Għalik Missier, to celebrate Fathers Day in 2021 and also took part in in the KKI Junior 2021 festival with Bl- Indipendenza. Both songs were written, composed and produced by herself.
Later this year Krista will be releasing her own original composition that she wrote at just 11 years old.
