Iceland: 2016 Söngvakeppnin – First semi-final – Three acts to the final

Iceland held the first of 2016 Söngvakeppnin national selection semi-finals last night. Six acts performed and three progressed to the final.

The six acts and songs and composers were –

  1. Greta Salóme – Raddirnar (Greta Salóme Stefánsdóttir)
  2. Hjörtur Traustason & Erna Hrönn Ólafsdóttir – Hugur minn er (Þórunn Erna Clausen)
  3. Ingólfur ÞórarinssonFátækur námsmaður (Ingólfur Þórarinsson)
  4. Band EvaÉg sé þig (Sigríður Eir Zophoniasardóttir & Jóhanna Vala Höskuldsdóttir)
  5. Karlotta Sigurðardóttir – Óstöðvandi (Kristinn Sigurpáll Sturluson, Ylva Persson, Linda Persson & Karlotta Sigurðardóttir)
  6. Sigga EyrúnKreisí (Karl Olgeirsson & Sigríður Eyrún Friðriksdóttir)

The results were decided by televoting and three acts went forward to the final. The three acts that did not make it have a chance still through the wildcard entry.

The three acts progressing to the final are –

  • Greta Salóme 
  • Karlotta Sigurðardóttir 
  • Hjörtur Traustason & Erna Hrönn Ólafsdóttir
