Greta Salóme was selected to represent Iceland at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest in May in Sweden with the song Hear Them Calling. It will be a return to the Eurovision stage after she represented Iceland with Jónsi with Never Forget in 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Since 2012 Greta has been working around the world after signing a deal with Disney Enterprises and performed on cruise ships. She had her own show called Ice! Fire! Strings where she performed a combination of her own songs and Disney classic music. She will return to the cruise ships in June.

Greta has a very strong song for Stockholm. Hear Them Calling is anthemic and has a strong production. In the national selection, Söngvakeppnin, the song was originally performed in the Icelandic language and entitled Raddirnar.

You can see Greta perform Hear Them Calling and the Icelandic version, Raddirnar, at the 2016 Söngvakeppnin below.

  1. Thanks to HANDS UP music for sending us this and for Ian who published it on the website

  2. My favorite moment in the song is at the 2:33 mark, where the crowd thinks the song is over and Greta lets out a big smile.
