It is now 12 days to the 2024 Eurovision final in Malmo, Sweden. For  20 days running I will highlight one song from each of the last 20 years and I have started with 2004. Now with 12 days to go it this the 2012 Eurovision.

The 2012 Eurovision song contest took place in BAKU, AZERBAIJAN.  This was their first time hosting; a venue was specially build for it.

LOREEN won with EUPHORIA for SWEDEN. It was Loreen’s first victory, her second would happen in 2023.

There were several great songs and one of them was WE ARE THE HEROES by LITESOUND for BELARUS. The guys from the group were a very nice bunch of people to talk to.

South African JAN MATTHYS VAN LILL covered it in Afrikaans as VEG TOT DIE EINDE.
