I went into Stockholm with this song being one of my favorites, if not my top favorite. Super catchy lyrics, fun… a party song. I love that Spain sent an English-language song, mostly because they took a risk. I know Barei took some heat for that in Spain, but if you want to win, you gotta take risks. Some of my favorites have come from Spain, Ruth Lorenzo, Pastora Soler, Edurne, the list goes on and on.
But… I do not feel like Barei connected with her audience. It was like we weren’t there (on multiple occasions, starting with the red carpet). That turned me off big time. Then, the whole gimmick during the Grand Final was just not my taste. So, that was that. I still enjoy the song, but that’s all I have.
With Spain being one of the top five countries that doesn’t have to qualify for a place in the finals. It was good to see them send an english sung song. Say Yah is a good upbeat dance song something that could be played in nightclubs all over europe . In saying that this song wasn’t in my top ten
Fantastic up-beat song which is what we love at Eurovision. I thought it might have scored higher than 22nd place I think it deserved much better.
